In August Laga Industries through our Gala ice cream brand launched our first ever major National promotion to win a fully kitted Nissan Patrol from our good friends at Boroko Motors. During the last three months, the promotion had 50 consolation prizes of mountain bikes given away weekly nationwide leading up to the major draw.
The promotion even had a sentimental value to some consolation prize winners like little Angelica from Popondetta. Angelica was promised a mountain bike by her father who sadly passed away before he could fulfill her wish. Angelicas mums name was drawn as a third week consolation prize winner and presented Angelica with the bike.
By the end of October, we had received a total of 280,000 entries from all over the country. The official draw for the grand prize was done on Friday 30th October by Paradise Company Group CEO Mr James Rice under the supervision of police personal as well as Laga Industries and Paradise Foods staff.
The winner Delma Kife from Goroka was contacted the same day and was excited to hear about the good news. We asked her what she purchased and she said in September it was quite hot around town so she dropped by Starland freezers to grab a Jungle-Pop and T-shake for herself. She saw that there was a promo on by Gala to win a Car(Fully Kitted Nissan Patrol) so she took her chances to try entering the draw – she never thought she would be the lucky winner.
